There was talk for about a year or so that the revamped Quar rules were in the works, and were going to based on one of the other Zombiesmith rule sets. I know the fact that it's shooting based was making Shieldbash less of a contender, and perhaps eyes were being turned to Storm of Steel.

My group loves the models and loves the fluff, but has been lukewarm on the Songs system, so have left it our Quar on the shelf for the last year, in a holding pattern of sorts, in anticipation.

I know you guys have been likely busy with involvement in the video game and the like, but has the new rule set simply been delayed this past year, or are we holding our breaths for something that may not be coming?

We have been working on it! In fact, we have released a quickstart book, A Rhyfler's Pocket-book.

So far it has only been available at conventions and occasionally included with large Quar orders. It should have a general release around Memorial Day, unless I can talk Headzombie into putting it up sooner.

Might as well keep trying Quar in various other games at the same time. I've done Chain of Command, others Bolt Action. I used to play a lot of War Engine, which is the system behind Shock Force. Simple and easy to customize. I was reminded of it recently, and think I'll put out some stats for Quar in War Engine.

My main Quar gaming partner, my son, is away now, so don't know if I'll be able to give a report.

It has profiles for all the faction Starters and Add-Ons that we sell here - http://www.zombiesmith.com/collections/quar-starter-sets

The rest of the minis will get profiles when we do a full book, but the should be pretty easy to fake. Or you could ask here and I could try to slam together a temp profile.

Very excited to get my hands on the new rules, even if they are beta rules or not quite complete across all factions.

When the new book does come out, any idea whether it will be softcover or a hard back like Neverworld's Edge?

I would also love to see a ton of the artwork in final release , even if it's just the same pieces that were in TQW and SOA books reprinted, as I feel they are a strong selling point for the game and the Quar world, that can continue to suck players I that may not have had an opportunity to read the earlier rule sets.

I guess I better get my Quar off the shelf and finish up their final detailing Smile

Just a "bump" on the thread, as I rub my hands together feverishly, not unlike a serial villain, in anticipation of Head Zombie putting the starter rules up
on the site 😁.

Neat, thanks. Of course, I'll mostly use it as another source for Chain of Command stats. It already raised a question about whether I should bother counting the Ryshi as semi-automatic in CoC. Hmmmm.

Awesome. Just downloaded the new rulebook to see which starter sets I should grab and in what scale. And then will get some forces and the physical copy. I figure if I'm gonna pay for shipping a chapbook to Canada I should probably add some metal to the order. Very Happy
