Hi, Here are some photographs of the foam boards I have built for War of Ashes.

The first piece I built is based upon the art on page 25 of the Rule Book.

The snow effect was created using a technique I'd found on Bell of Lost Souls - Equal amounts of Arm and Hammer Baking Soda + White Acrylic +PVA Glue added together. It works really well and hasn't yellowed or faded.

These are cake pillars painted with smooth masonry paint and then drybrushed. The raised walkways are made from foam and painted using smooth masonry paint as a base and then drybrushed with acrylics again.

Thank you !

This next one was built with the intention of allowing its dark earth basing to be used for different scenarios in the rule book and my own as well as the opportunity for other games.

"From Below Ground" scenario on page 143.

"The Narrow Pass" scenario on page 147

The rock pieces are cut from foam then sealed with filla and/or air drying clay. They are interchangeable and can be used for other games.

Some other pieces I've built...

In the future I am going to build 1 or 2 of the huts that were featured in the rulebook for this terrain board.

Here are the other boards I've built.

Lava Terrain Board. This uses the same technique I used for snow, only with black acrylic.

Stone pavement. This can be used for a fight in a street, palace, dungeon or underground kingdom. I am going to build some modular walls when I get the time and a few small pieces.

Snow field. Used some remaining grass and repeated the snow effect. Still water was applied in areas to represent frost/ice.

The Bridge. Here I experimented using water effects. It was the first time I'd used it and unfortunately bubbles have risen in areas since then. I don't know what I did wrong but I think that it adds a nice touch to the polluted looking river.

My idea for this was to have stepping stones as well as the bridge for characters to cross. If they fall into the river, something nasty shall appear and attack them. The stepping stones come from the original stone bridge structure that was destroyed eons ago as part of a retreating "deny the enemy" action.

The Sea. This is waiting for me to build some ships and terrain. Maybe even a sea serpent or so.....

When I have built some more pieces I shall put them on here.

Very nicely done! All of those look great, although I think I'd have to say that the snowy ruins take the cake.
