Hi Stew,

Nice to meet you and a couple of the other Quar fans at Game Kastle last night.

For those who didn't make it, we got in 3 games:

Kryst (early list) vs. Crusaders - Kryst overwhelming victory
Kryst (early list) vs. Crusaders - Crusader overwhelming victory
Kryst (pro-crus list) vs. Royalists - very close game with Kryst winning due to bad morale tests.

Looking to do another Monday night session in October!

Hi, I am a gamer that frequently plays at Game Kastle. I saw the original Quar book a long time ago at the store and it was really fascinating. Just this week I found the Quar online and have been looking at the minis and TQW pdf. I was looking around and started wondering how much shipping was going to cost (I'm too used to 40k from UK and Infinity from Spain, but I buy at my FLGS) and eventually I found that the maker's FLGS was Endgame in Oakland. Very cool! I'm an hour away in San Jose but this is still much closer than I had expected.

I'm disappointed that I just missed the demo day at Game Kastle but I will keep an eye out for future events and see about possibly getting into these games. (I can't believe a demo happened the week before I re-discovered this game!)

My only worry about starting Quar was how hard it would be to find opponents. I was about to order some miniatures just to have them or use them in other games if no one else was into the rules. Luckily it appears Game Kastle is getting some players interested. I saw that you mentioned Stew had played it (I think I know him, if he is also a LotR SBG player)

How does the level of interest look at Game Kastle? Also, can I purchase the miniatures at Game Kastle or Endgame?

Sorry for such a long post, but I had a lot to share and I am very excited at the moment. thanks

Hopefully you hook up with some of these wonderful guys in Cali to get some games in.

Aside from that the Quar can always be used as Imperial Guard and Tau Auxillary in 40k Cool

Welcome aboard!

.

EndGame does stock a smattering of the line - It's in and out of stock regularly. Game Kastle has a collection of the minis as well and I'm sure they would order them.
If you order from ZombieSmith directly, they ship relatively quickly and charge a flat $5 for S&H.

Looks like we will play at Game Kastle on October 22nd.
We're looking at playing at EndGame on October 16th.
Gamescape North is doing demo days the weekend of Oct 13-14 and on the 28th.

Keep an eye on this forum and you'll see more action with Song of Our Ancestors. Not sure what you'll see for TQW though. More announcement of game days to come.

Thank you for the replys! I'm glad to know there will be more demos and the miniatures are available around here. I am interested in Song of our Ancestors but I was just looking at the TQW pdf at first, it is free.

The original plan was to make a Tau auxiliary unit but I would love to play the real game.

Thanks for the info
