At Pentacon in Fort Wayne, November 6-8 I got to play in an AWESOME game called Tech Commander ( http://www.techcommandergame.com/ ) ...
TC is a game of big MECHA combat (they called them MSV's) which were cast of resin, fully articulated and weapon swappable. We played in a DEATHMATCH format, with scores kept, PWNS tracked, etc. There were objectives, lots of smack talked, etc. As the game went, you got chips for various things, and kill chips could be traded in for upgrades between spawns.
As points were collected, if you got 50 points (no easy feat) you got a Thor's Hammer on a neck lanyard as a symbol of bragging rights. By the end of the FIRST session, myself and two others hammered. By weekend end, three more would hammer, and three of us DOUBLE hammered!
The TDM round was a 9 player match with myself in command of the "HAMMERS" and the vixen Cassie "the HEARTBREAKER" in charge of the "SUPER ANVILS" ... we had 4 players, and they had 5.
The final board says it all ...
by the end of the con, yours truly had the best overall score ... ...
and the top five players ranked left to right ...
The game is still in Beta, and I am fortunate enough to have been selected to be on the development team.
Check the game out, and maybe we'll get to play together at a con this next year. _________________ "Caerten Nay’ar's right behind me apparently, and says calm as can be ... "Strip the Crusader dead." Can you believe that?" -- 772nd Line Catrawd, Army of Western Arnyara, "Errant Sons." |

Sounds like a fun game. I've been toying with a similar idea. How do the mechs scale up to other 28mm figs? _________________

The infantry are 28mm .. MSV's come in size AC1-AC6 ... I think on an AC4 a person was around knee level ... I think most of the MSV's were about 6-10" tall! _________________ "Caerten Nay’ar's right behind me apparently, and says calm as can be ... "Strip the Crusader dead." If your such a great commander, why are you not going to be our colonel again. _________________ *The renowned PykPyk finder* |
