Haha, all this talk of bogen-barrel scotch makes me want to whip up a little diorama of some royalists hard at work cooking up their favorite distilled spirits - might make a good objective marker! Maybe when I eventually build up a royalist squad...

Alrighty, anyways, fixed up those collars and finished another rhyfler! Here they are:

Rhyflers

I also photographed them under better lighting and without the flash, so I think they look a bit less washed out than in the last photo.

Family in town this weekend so if I'm lucky I may get my last Ryshi done tomorrow, but otherwise it'll probably be until next Tuesday before I make any more progress.

Just got some crusader cavalry that I hope to assemble tonight or tomorrow - are they intended to be based on 40mm round bases for SoA?

Sorry for lack of updates here - I've still been painting away but it seems a bit silly to post a new shot of every. single. rhyfler. So, instead I'm going to go with a group shot when I finish them off - just need to do finishing touches on the 3rd bogen rhyfler and then the Yawdryl, then add a bit of flock to their bases.

I also have a handful of new minis that my wife gave me as an anniversary gift (3 cavalryquar and a command section), so I'll be assembling and hopefully painting those soon as well.

Finally got 'em all painted up for their first battle on Tuesday, flocked their bases last night and just got photos taken, here they are:

Time to get crackin' on that command section! They're all assembled, just need sand and primer before I paint them up.

Pigs and pyk-pyks join the ranks! The pigs are kind of tribute figures to my cats, one's black and one's an orange tabby.

Cook, pyk-pyk handler, and another Yawdryl are at the WIP stage and will hopefully be done in time for Tuesday's games.

They look great - but you might want to base the pyk-pyks seperately to allow them also to be used as tokens (that's my undrestanding at least?)

Yeah, but they're so tiny it seemed almost silly to base each one alone. I was thinking of adding a small pole (just from toothpick or something) to the back of the base, and dropping a bead on it each time I send out a pyk-pyk. I saw a guy with a similar method for tracking wounds in his Warhammer Ogre Kingdoms army, and have wanted to use that idea ever since.

Wellsirs, I'm making very, very slow progress but here's the next update:

Yawdryl's eyepatch:

Pyk-pyk handler's arm:

Bees:

So here we have the command section Yawdryl, Cook, and pyk-pyk handler. The pack was missing the pyk-pyk handler's arm, so I did a quick little conversion on him - I just bent a bit of wire and stuck a hand from a Mordheim model on him so he's holding a little knife.

The Yawdryl got an eyepatch, and I figure he can count as a veteran as opposed to the yawdryl from the first squad.

I also painted the moths on the cook's pack as bees instead, since I'm thinking along the lines of having my Crusaders forming an uneasy alliance with the local militia, who are bee farmers when they're not busy fighting off those pesky Coftyrans.
