Hey folks!

I've had my eye on the Quar for awhile, really anytime i walked into EndGame. i have the rules for TQW but held off on buying some miniatures bc of the number needed to play.

BUT! at Kublacon i played a couple games of SoA, and liked it tons. what a great way to build your quar army and still play. so later on i picked up SoA and some royalist rhyflers from Game Kastle.

here are some pics.

see you all around!

They are great looking, but they look to me to be Coftyrans. What do I know though?

Nice-looking coftyrans! I love the attention to detail on their bases. You should bring 'em down to EndGame some Tuesday evening for a few games.

yes, that is me. Very Happy

Tuesdays at EG will be hard, as i live in the very southbay and work even further south. i do play games a GK a lot on monday nights however if folks are in that area.

i did try to do extra on the bases. it helps camouflage the average painting. Very Happy

i'm almost done with the rest of the squad! then to get some crusaders.

alright, finished up the rest of the royalist squad!

thanks for all the encouragement everyone. i was really inspired by all the artwork in the books that show huge amounts of plant life.

rest of the rhyflers

and the yawdrl and the LMG

i have a squad of crusaders in the works, and then i'll be hosting some games in my neck of the woods.

but i do have a question, what's the strength of the grenade blast? I can't seem to find it in SoOA, OSAP, or ToTB. but i notice that the crusader yawdrl comes with 3 grenades in his profile.

thanks!

the strength of a grenade is cv:3 (it's under the partisan weapons, along with the pistol (cv:1, short).
you should come down to engame on the 31st if you get a chance!

ah, thanks for the reference. missed that when i was trying to find it.
won't be able to make it on the 31rst. tuesdays at EG are quite difficult to make.

i'll be bringing the quar to GK, usually on mondays. : )

thanks for the encouragement everyone.

had some friends over the other day to introduce them to Songs and to play for the 3rd time in my life. i'm sure we missed some rules and messed up others.

we played 2 games but only took pictures of one. overall we had fun, but that activation mechanic can be a cruel mistress, especially when you failed the first activation roll of your turn!

scenario just like dawn patrol, but without the dawn. just a squad of coftyrans and a squad of crusaders stumbling into each other in the woods and fighting it out.

i used a bunch of hedgerow terrain to separate my 4x6 table into 2 3x3 tables. the idea that one would be SoA and the other we would try Songs of blades and heroes if enough people showed up.

squads move about

anymore room by the trees?

the ridge provided an excellent fire base for the royalists in both games

the crusaders move along the trees trying to outflank. no, they're not fully painted yet.

long range fire and maneuver!

and that's all the good ones. can't wait to play again. : D
